Thursday, June 25th, 2020

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Have you taken our 30 Soaks in 30 Days Wellness Challenge? We challenge all new hot tubbers to use their hot tub every day. The benefits to your family and your wellness from daily usage of a hot tub can be simply life changing.

After your hot tub is delivered, you should receive a few emails from us, explaining how to participate in our Wellness Challenge. It’s easy, just use your hot tub daily, track it and get wellness benefits and prizes!

All the information, including a printable calendar chart for tracking can be found here. People who complete the challenge, can return it online here, or to their local showroom, for their prizes.

Habit of Hot Tubbing

We, at The Spa and Sauna Company family of stores, believe that if you have a hot tub, you should be using it. If you use your hot tub frequently when you first acquire it, you are more likely to stick with the habit as long as you own your hot tub and get the maximum health and wellness benefits, as well.

How Using A Hot Tub Changes Your Life

Here are some of the amazing testimonials we’ve received about how hot tubbing has changed the lives of our Wellness Challenge Participants:

Soaking has helped with our recovery from weightlifting and cycling,” Jamie C. of Reno, Wellness Challenge Participant.

“[We} have noticed our sleep time has improved with the addition of the spa; we are more relaxed and tranquil,” Michael B. of Minden, Wellness Challenge Participant.

“We love that it’s our special together time at the end of the evening. We turn off the tv, gather our towels and head outside. We enjoy looking at the stars and enjoying the dark peacefulness. We have had a hot tub in each home of our 42 years of marriage, Peggy O. of Reno, Wellness Challenge Participant.

“My husband Jim has had back pain every day for the last 15-20 years… Not any more!!” said Gina M. of Sparks, Spa and Sauna Daily Soaker.

“The whole family loves it for different reasons. Kids love to splash and play, husband loves to relax and I love the hydrotherapy,” said Rebecca B. of Reno, Spa and Sauna Daily Soaker.

We Believe Hot Tubs are Wellness Tools

The Spa and Sauna Company was awarded the Watkins Wellness Award at the January Dealer Conference, held in Florida, for our Wellness Challenge.

We truly embrace the Wellness aspects that hot tubs bring to people’s lives.

We recommend you can leave your devices in the house (if they get in the water, they will break), get in the hot tub and use that time to have meaningful conversations with your family members. We believe connecting with your family and loved ones is an important part of wellness.

Wellness Benefits of Hot Tubbing

The benefits of soaking in hot water include:

Improved sleep
Stress relief
Pain relief
Family time
Time away from electronics
Meaningful conversations
And more.

Some Wellness Challenge participants have found that hot tubbing means they no longer need a massage therapist, or back pain medication, and that they can enjoy hobbies, like gardening, again.

To check out some more of our favorite comments and some of our Wellness Related Blog posts and reposts, click here.  You can also complete your wellness challenge form online from this page.

Other people notice improvements in their overall health and sleep patterns. Click here to read about Mark B. of Sparks, who no longer needs to visit a chiropractor, now that he uses his hot tub daily.

Most say they now use their hot tub every day for the wellness benefits.

Challenge participants, who return their calendar, may be featured on our website and social media. We also sent a few follow-up emails that encourage them to continue using their hot tub after they complete the challenge. Happy Hot Tubbing.

Are Hot Tubs Expensive?

Thursday, May 28th, 2020

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Hot tubs are sometimes incorrectly thought of as expensive luxury items. But hot tubs can be affordable for everyone.

Here at The Spa and Sauna Company family of stores in Nevada and California, we make sure that we have hot tubs available for every budget and need. We truly believe that everyone can and should have a hot tub.

When you consider a hot tub’s cost, be sure to remember that almost all hot tubs we sell can be financed and the health and wellness benefits can be life changing.

Family Time in a Hot Tub - How to Relax with Family, Reno, Sparks, San Jose, Santa Cruz

How much does a hot tub cost?

Typically, hot tubs start at about $3,000 and can range into the high teens, depending on brand and series. We also carry used hot tubs, to make the some of the higher-end models available to people who are working within a budget.

Can I finance my hot tub?

We offer financing to our customers. Click here to apply online for a pre-approval here, even before coming into the showroom, if you like. Hot Tubs starting at $2,999 qualify for the plans we have available.

We have 10 or more hot tubs, available from any of our locations, that can be financed for under $100 a month. That’s actually less per day than a fancy coffee or a lunch out.

How Hot Tub Value and Hot Tub Maintenance Play a Role

At The Spa and Sauna Company, we only sell the absolute best in hot tubs.

We specialize exclusively in Hot Spring Spas, Freeflow Spas, and Endless Pools Swim Spas in our Bay Area Showrooms in California.

In our Nevada Showrooms, we also carry Hot Spring Spas, Freeflow Spas, and Endless Pools Swim Spas, but we also offer Caldera Spas and Sundance Spas.

Hot Tubs by these manufacturers are designed to last. They are available in several series, so you can select the one that fits your budget, style preference and water care preference.

Higher series hot tubs, in general, offer simpler water care, and additional amenities, such as unique jet systems, music, superior filtration systems and more. Those higher series hot tubs also offer longer warranties, so if something should need a repair, it is covered by the manufacturer.

Wellness Benefits

There are many health and wellness benefits of hot tubs.

Hot Tubbers who use their hot tub consistently have told us they no longer need a massage therapist, a chiropractor, or even pain medication. They have also said they sleep better and feel enhanced mobility that allows them to participate in activities they may have abandoned due to pain, such as gardening.

Hot tubs also provide safe, at-home recreation, and make a great Staycation destination.

In Summary

In summary, when considering the daily cost, the wellness benefits, the family time that hot tubs provide, hot tubs really aren’t expensive.

We have been providing hot tubs to the Greater Reno community and the Bay Area of California for over 30 years. Call us or web chat or fill out any of our forms to get started.

Why Big Green Eggs are the Best Kamodo Grill

Thursday, May 7th, 2020

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Consumer Reports recently reviewed Kamado Grills, and wrote that there are some others that might be able to compete with the original ceramic cooker – the Big Green Egg.

We, at The Spa and Sauna Company family of stores, would like to take this opportunity to explain why we believe that Big Green Egg – the only Kamado Grill we carry – is still the best one out there.

What Consumer Reports Has to Say

Here’s a direct excerpt from Consumer Reports review:

“When Consumer Reports first worked with the Big Green Egg in 2017, we were impressed by its ability to sear a steak at over 1,000° F and then, with just a few minor adjustments, maintain a low, steady 200° F flame for hours to turn out succulent ribs.

With that kind of performance, we determined that the Big Green Egg really might be worthy of its devout following, even with a $1,100 price. At the time, the egg-shaped ceramic charcoal grill was the only one of its kind. But it’s facing some increasingly serious competition. Look-alikes have popped up at major retailers, some with prices as low as $300.”

Read the full Consumer Reports article here.

Big Green Eggs Provide The Ultimate Cooking Experience – and Cooking Versatility

Big Green Eggs can roast, bake, grill, and smoke almost any food you could imagine. You can make anything from tradition BBQ fare, to appetizers, to desserts on a Big Green Egg. They also heat up very quickly and are simple enough to use that everyone – from novice grillers to experts – enjoys using them.

Warranty and Lifetime of Product

Big Green Eggs come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Read full warranty details here.

Here at The Spa and Sauna Company, we have seen Big Green Eggs that haven’t only surpassed the Lifetime Guarantee, they have been passed down to family members, through generations.

Quality and Customer Service

Created by Ed Fisher in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1974, the Big Green Egg, was inspired by the domed clay cookers that have been used for thousands of years. After decades of perfecting his Big Green Egg, the ceramic cookers are available internationally.  Big Green Egg is now the world’s largest producer and distributor of the ceramic cooking system.

Limited Availability/Exclusivity

Big Green Eggs are only available from Authorized Dealers, including The Spa and Sauna family of stores. They can’t be purchased from Hardware stores or big box stores. For this reason, look-alikes have sprouted up from other vendors.

Big Green Egg Community

Have you joined the EggHead community? There is a large international community of Big Green Egg enthusiasts on social media that posts under hashtags, including but not limited to #biggreenegglife #biggreeneggnation and #biggreenegg. Check some of those hashtags out for recipe inspiration and more cooking tips. For some of our favorite Big Green Egg recipes, click here .

In Conclusion

While there may be other Kamado Grills similar to the Big Green Egg, we think the Big Green Egg stands out from the crowd, due to its Cooking Versatility, Warranty, Exclusivity and Community.

Big Green Eggs are available in multiple sizes starting around $699 (depending on size) for the Egg plus Accessory Packages that include nests, fire starters, ash tools and charcoal. Ready to invest in the Ultimate Cooking Experience? Request a free, no-obligation quote here.

Ease Stress and Calm the Mind
With everyone home, the hectic schedules only seems to multiply, making it challenging to get a good night’s sleep. But with a hot tub at home, it’s easy to feel calm for a deep, restful sleep. About an hour before retiring, taking a quiet soak to allow the mind to make the transition from feeling stressed, to calm.

Social Distancing and Reconnecting – in your Hot Tub!

Friday, April 24th, 2020

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Anyone else notice that social-distancing, and sheltering-in-place, has you feeling more connected to others, both in and out of the hot tub?

Maybe, a little extra time thinking about loved ones has you reconnecting virtually with those far-flung friends and relatives, and sharing a few more quiet moments with immediate family, too.

How to Relax in a Hot Tub

While you’re home, during these ever-changing and uncertain times, it’s easy to get stressed out by following the latest news feeds.

We, at The Spa and Sauna Company family of stores, highly recommend you put the phone down for a moment, swab it down with a disinfectant, and then go take a relaxing soak in your hot tub or swim spa. A sweat session in your sauna would also work.

Benefits of Heat Therapy

Heat therapy has been proven to reduce stress, improve sleep and increase your overall wellness, by allowing time for self-reflection and unplugged family time, all while reducing aches and pains.

How to Reach Us for a Hot Tub

If you don’t yet have your hot tub, swim spa or sauna and you’re in the Reno-Tahoe area or the South Bay area, we are still here for you. We are encouraging screen-to-screen presentations, phone consultations, web chats, emails, and virtual backyard consultations.

How to Reach Us for Hot Tub Supplies

And if you do have a hot tub, our e-store and autoship programs are available, as well as hot tub delivery and service.

Reminder: Properly disinfected hot tubs, swim spas and saunas are still perfectly safe to use during this time, and always.

So give yourself a break, stay healthy, stay calm and stay in your hot tub!

Activities such as home improvements, yard work/gardening, and family time – and of course, hot tubbing – are wonderful ways to take a break from it all, without actually going anywhere. You will feel refreshed when you return to your normal, daily routine.

Benefits of a Hot Tub

Hot tubs provide various wellness benefits.
